Air India New York-Delhi flight diverted to London due to medical emergency | News from India

NEW DELHI: Air India New York (JFK)-Delhi direct flight on Monday had to be diverted to London Heathrow due to an onboard medical emergency.
The Boeing 777 operating as AI-102 was in Norwegian Aerospace when the medical emergency occurred and the pilots decided to divert to nearby London to save the life of the passenger. The airline’s ground staff at Heathrow have made arrangements to ensure prompt medical attention upon landing in London.
“There was a group of seven traveling together. One of them got sick. When the plane landed in London, the ailing passenger and two others with the passenger got off at Heathrow. The aircraft is expected to take off for Delhi around 5:30 pm (GMT or 11:00 pm IST on Monday),” an AI official said.
