A spokesperson for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle said reports that the couple will take legal action over an episode of South Park are “frankly nonsense”.
An edition of the American animated TV series appeared to be targeting the couple.
The episode, called Worldwide Privacy Tour, featured a “Prince of Canada” character and his wife who move to the fictional South Park.
The fictional pair were seen drawing attention to themselves and promoting a memoir, called Waaaagh.
There were also similarities to Harry’s hair and beard and a suit Meghan wore to Trooping the Color in 2018.
Royal commentators in some sections of the media had suggested that Harry and Meghan’s lawyers were watching the episode, but these claims have been dismissed.
A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex told People magazine: “They are all frankly nonsense. Totally baseless and boring reports.”
Last month, it was revealed that a Netflix series about Harry, 38, and Meghan, 41, was streaming service ranked second best documentary had ever come out.
The documentary’s airing before Christmas preceded the publication of the duke’s controversial memoir, Spare.
The autobiography became the best selling nonfiction book in the UK since recording began in 1998 following its release on 10 January.
