The AFC has informed that Qatar will host the next edition of the prestigious tournament and has also invited the president of each Participating Member Association (PMA), head coaches and team managers to attend the final draw. To this end, AFC has sent letters to all LDCs.
“The AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 will take place in the country that hosted the fifa world cup last year, with the proposed dates for the tournament being set between January 12 and February 10, 2024. The final dates for the competition will be made official after confirmation with FIFA,” the AFC statement added.

Underlining the importance of preparation for the AFC Asian Cup, Stimac said: “Our priority is to get as much preparation time as possible in December and January ahead of the Asian Cup. We have a busy schedule this year with AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualifiers, Asian Games and FIFA windows for the senior team. It is necessary for us to plan early.”
India’s head coach also wants to get the ball rolling for the Asian Cup right after the final draw.
“For now, we plan to choose suitable accommodation right after the draw, and also to discuss possible friendlies before the tournament,” he said.
