Murder investigation of Hong Kong model Abby Choi makes sixth arrest after body parts found in fridge | world news

A sixth person has been arrested in connection with the murder of a Hong Kong model whose dismembered legs were found in a fridge.

Abby Choi was a model and influencer who shared her glamorous life of photo shoots and fashion shows with over 100,000 followers on Instagram.

The 28-year-old was reportedly last seen more than a week ago on February 21 with the police find her legs in a fridge days later.

A young woman’s skull, believed to be Ms Choi’s, and several ribs were found in a pot that was seized from the property where her legs were found.

A hole in the back of the skull is where she was struck in the fatal attack, officials say.

On Thursday, police arrested a 41-year-old man suspected of aiding and abetting an offender, according to local media.

He is accused of trying to help Ms Choi’s ex-husband Alex Kwong flee Hong Kong by sea.

Kwong, 28, his father, Kwong Kau and brother, Anthony Kwong, were charged with murder on Monday, while Alex Kwong’s mother, Jenny Li, faces one count of perverting the course of the justice.

A fifth person believed to have hidden one of the suspects has been released on bail by police without charge.

“Strong Evidence” of Landfill Research

More than 120 agents have completed their finding a landfill for more body parts of the model as police continue to investigate the gruesome murder.

His torso and hands have not yet been found.

Superintendent Alan Chung told reporters: “Even though we didn’t find them [the missing body parts]we got solid evidence in the case.”

Officers also revisited the house in Lung Mei Tsuen village where Ms Choi’s remains were believed to have been found. A police cordon remains at the scene.

Ms Choi’s last post on social media was more than a week ago, with a photo shoot she did with L’Officiel Monaco, a fashion publication.

Police said she was embroiled in a financial dispute involving tens of millions of Hong Kong dollars with her ex-husband and his family – with “some people” unhappy with the way she handled her finances.
