Prince Harry: ‘I’ve always felt different from the rest of my family… and my mum has felt the same way’ | UK News

Prince Harry said he has always felt different from the rest of his family and that his mother felt the same way.

THE Duke of Sussex made the remarks during a livestreamed conversation with author Dr Gabor Mate.

“I’ve definitely felt a little different from the rest of my family throughout my life,” she said.

“I felt weird being in this container, and I know my mom felt the same way, so it makes sense to me.

“It didn’t make sense in the moment that I felt like my body was there but my head was out and sometimes it was the other way around.”

Duke also spoke about his fears before going to therapy.

“One of the things I was most afraid of was losing the feelings I had for my mother.

“I thought if I went to therapy it would kill me and that I would lose everything I had left, everything I was able to keep from my mother and it turns out that wasn’t the case. I didn’t lose it it was the other way around” .

“I turned what I thought should be sadness to try and show her that I missed realizing that she really wanted me to be happy, and that was a huge weight on my chest.”

The Duke of Sussex also said marijuana “really helped” him mentally.

He said taking cocaine “did nothing” for him, but added, “Marijuana is different, it’s actually really helped me.”

Harry’s military service in Afghanistan came up in the conversation, with Dr Mate saying he was not aligned with the West during the conflict.

Harry replied: “One of the reasons so many people in the UK didn’t support our troops was because they thought everyone who served was for war.

“But no, once you sign up, you do what you’re told to do.

“So there were a lot of us who didn’t necessarily agree or disagree, but you were doing what you were trained to do, you were doing what you were sent to do.”
