NEW DELHI: Mumbai Indians recorded another landslide victory on Monday to establish themselves as undisputed favorites in the opening stages of the first Women’s Premier League. Mumbai cemented their top spot in the standings with two big wins in two tournament games.
The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side produced a dominating performance at Brabourne Stadium to beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by nine wickets.

Smriti Mandhana opted to strike first, but RCB failed to beat their 20 over quota and were knocked out for 155 in 18.4 overs. MI then chased the below-average goal in just 14.2 overs with nine wickets in hand.
West Indian all-rounder Hayley Matthews shone with both bat and ball, leading the chase with an undefeated 77 on 38 balls after returning 3-for-28 numbers earlier with the ball. Matthews brought MI comfortably home with Nat Sciver-Brunt, 55 steps out of 29, like his partner. The duo added an unbeaten 114 runs for the second wicket from just 9.2 overs.

Matthew and Yastika Bhatia (23 of 19) added a quick 45 runs, inside five overs, for the opening wicket to give MI a perfect start in their pursuit. And they didn’t look back after that and handed RCB their second defeat in two games.
