PRAYAGRAJ: A shooter from Atiq Ahmed’s gang was injured after being shot during an encounter with Uttar Pradesh police in Kaudhiyara Prayagraj area early Monday morning.
The shooter has been identified as Vijay Chaudhary aka Usmann. Usman is said to have been the first of the assailants to open fire Umesh Pal and its security guards on February 24 of this year..
According to initial reports, Usman was rushed to SRN hospital. He was carrying a reward of Rs 50,000.
Umesh Pal, the key witness in the murder case of BSP MLA Raju Pal, and his police security guard Sandeep Nishad were shot dead outside his home in Dhoomanganj area of Prayagraj.
Atq Ahmed he is the prime accused in the Raju Pal murder case and is currently being held in a Gujarat jail.
A reward of Rs 2.5 lakh each for the arrest or provision of information for the arrest of five people involved in the killing of Umesh Pal was announced by UP police on Sunday.
Based on a complaint filed by Umesh Pal’s wife Jaya Pal, a case has been registered at Dhoomanganj Police Station against Atiq Ahmed, his brother Ashraf, his wife Shaista Parveen, two sons, aides Guddu Muslim and Ghulam and nine more.
