Manish Sisodia Held With Criminals, Refused ‘Vipassana Cell’ At Delhi’s Tihar Jail, AAP Claims | Delhi News

NEW DELHI: AAP National Spokesperson Saurabh Bharadwaj on Wednesday said the former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia he is being held in jail with other inmates and has been refused ‘Vipassana’ cell.
“There was a request for Manish Sisodia to be held in the Vipasana prison cell and the same was approved by the court. Despite the court approval, Sisodia was held with the criminals in Jail No. 1. The Center has to give the answer,” Bharadwaj said.

Sisodia, the former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi and charged with the excise policy scam, is being held in a cell at Tihar Aged Prison.
Officials had previously said Sisodia would be housed inside Tihar Jail number-1 which is meant for only one person who is an elder.
The court had allowed the senior leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to take the Bhagavad Gita, glasses and medicines to prison, and ordered the authorities in Tihar to consider his request to be allowed to practice Vipassana meditation.
