NEW DELHI: the Indians of Mumbai all over the place dismissed Capitals of Delhi continue their invincibility in the first Women’s Premier League THURSDAY. Harmanpreet Kaur and co. inflicted a heavy eight-wicket defeat against Delhi for their third straight win and cemented their position at the top of the table.
The defeat was also Delhi’s first of the season.
The bowlers led forward for Mumbai as Delhi were knocked down for a paltry 105 after opting to strike first.
Pacer Issy Wong and spinners Saika Ishaque and Hayley Matthews grabbed three wickets apiece in a combined effort to bring down Delhi’s star batting line-up in 18 overs.
Fly-half Yastika Bhatia and Matthews then struck a fine partnership of 65 runs for the opening wicket to knock Delhi out of the competition altogether.
