NEW DELHI: Australian players will wear black armbands out of respect for the captain Pat Cumminsmother deceased on day two of fourth and final test against India al Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Cummins flew home after the second test in Delhi to stay with his mother, Maria.
Cricket Australia tweeted: “We are deeply saddened by the passing of Maria Cummins overnight.
“On behalf of Australian cricket, we extend our deepest condolences to Pat, the Cummins family and their friends. The Australian men’s team will wear black armbands today as a sign of respect.”

In Cummins’ absence, Steve Smith had led the team in the Third Test at Indore and guided Australia to victory by nine wickets following successive defeats at Nagpur and Delhi.
Smith continues to lead visitors in the ongoing Ahmedabad test.
