NEW DELHI: India’s star batter Shreyas Iyer he underwent scans on Sunday after complaining of back pain in day 4 of the fourth and final test against Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday.
“Shreyas Iyer complained of lower back pain after the third day of play? He went for scans and the BCCI medical team is monitoring him,” the BCCI said in a medical update.
Iyer’s injury came to light after wicketkeeper batsman Srikar Bharat came out to bat in front of him following the dismissal of Ravindra Jadeja (28) in the morning session.
Iyer had also missed the first test in Nagpur with a back problem before returning for the second match in Delhi.
India lead the four-game series 2-1.
