“Sarvarkar samjha kya… Name is Rahul Gandhi,” the tweet read.

Congressional tweet about Savarkar comes in the context of apology demand as Savarkar is condemned by Congress for his “mercy petitions” to the British.
Rahul Gandhi and the Congress have remained adamant that there is nothing to apologize for as the MP has not insulted India or its democracy.
Reacting to the tweet, law minister and BJP leader Kiren Rijiju urged the party not to “insult” the great personality (Veer Savarkar). “I ask with folded hands,” the minister tweeted.
Party hits Delhi Police action
Earlier in the day, Congress criticized the Delhi police for sending a team to Rahul Gandhi’s residence seeking more information on his comments about meeting two women who claimed they had been raped.
Rahul had made the comments during the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi said the first notice was sent to Rahul on March 16 and the MP sought time to respond. “However, the police came to his house on Sunday to ask the same questions with a new notice,” Singhvi said.
“This is very strange. Rahul Gandhi has been criss-crossing the country for five months. And the Delhi Police have made the same questions twice in three days. We asked them how many of these political yatras come under their scrutiny like this,” added Singhvi.
“There’s a special focus on Rahul Gandhi nowadays. Is that why the Delhi Police has suddenly become so active?” Singhvi further stated.
