Shikha Singh: I can’t eat well or lead a normal life

Shikha Singh, who was last seen in Naagin 6, has posted about her health issues on social media. The actress revealed that she has been ill for some time. When we contacted Shikha, she said: “It has been a difficult phase in the last couple of months because I have been mostly in bed unable to do anything. Two months ago, I had developed a skin allergy and was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition whereby the doctor prescribed me medication. But within a day or two, I started getting a lot of acid reflux. The doctors recommended another round of tests, but nothing was diagnosed and I was told nothing was wrong. However, I can’t eat anything but khichdi or bland food.”
Shikha recovered a bit last month and decided to take a short break. She added: “I felt slightly better, so on my birthday, February 7, we went on holiday to Nairobi. Unfortunately, I got sick there and had to be hospitalized. Since we got home, I have rested. My husband Karan (Shah) is a pilot so he has to keep travelling”.

She admits that her health issues have affected her mental state. She said: “I feel helpless because the doctors can’t figure out what’s causing the acid reflux and why I can’t eat normal food. Previously, I didn’t want to post about my health issues, but when you live in a big city and feel alone at home, you want people to reach out to you. My daughter Alayna comes to me every day and she asks me, ‘Mumma kya hua hai?’ I see her face and it feels so bad. I want to get well soon. I think many people are going through health issues after the pandemic and we need to love and support each other.
Sharing how an actor’s life is not as perfect as it seems on social media, he added, “On social media, an actor only posts messages about the good life. It’s not just about glitz, glamor and great vacations, we also go through tough times. I wanted people to know about his situation in my life. I hope the medication works and I recover soon and am able to go back to my normal life.
