Tejashwi Yadav takes the ‘Gujarati Thug’ jibe to Choksi
He also criticized the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the Center for “hijacking central agencies and endangering democracy”.
He made these statements on Tuesday while interacting with media outside the Bihar Vidhan Sabha.
“In today’s scenario in the country, only a Gujarati can be a fraudster and he would even be forgiven. Who will take responsibility if someone runs off with LIC or bank money? What if the BJP itself ran away with this money? Many of their friends (from the BJP) are involved in corruption, but the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has been caged like a parrot,” Tejashwi said.
When the media reported the predictions made by the BJP people that Tejashwi would also be taken into CBI custody, like Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and if he was afraid, the young scion of Yadav replied, “The truth has no fear. What difference will it make? But now will the BJP people decide along these lines? Is there dictatorship in the country? This is what we have been saying for a long time that the BJP is in control of all central agencies and has endangered democracy.”
He further reiterated that neither CM Nitish Kumar nor he himself had any personal desire and that the two had come together to fight for a greater cause.
Responding to the BJP for its repeated comment about jungle raj, Tejashwi said, “Look at how they have performed. They break the microphone and move with sticks and want to be the raj of the jungle in Vidhan Sabha. But we won’t let that happen in the temple of democracy.”
