IPL 2023: Looking forward to playing in front of a packed stadium, says Faf du Plessis | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Faf du Plessis is delighted to perform in front of home crowds as the IPL returns to home and away format this year.
After participating in the inaugural edition of SA20 where he led Joburg Super Kings to the semi-finals, du Plessis is now targeting the next IPL from March 31.
The South African, who took over the captaincy from Virat Kohli last year, expressed his happiness after reaching Bengaluru.
“It’s great to be back in Bangalore. I didn’t really get to experience the home crowd last season. Really really excited for this year as I will be playing in front of a packed stadium. J ‘m really looking forward to it,” Faf said in a video posted by RCB on their social media.

The captain further said that he has been in contact with the key players and coaches: “I think it is important to contact some of the foreign players, especially where they are in the world, how are they and how are they Obviously, the coaching staff also well-being in contact with them.
“A few young niggles in the team, we’re just trying to make sure we work our way through this. We joined quite early, so it’s nice for everyone to hang out together as a team before the start of the competition,” du Plessis said.
RCB had a brilliant IPL season last year, finishing fourth with eight games in 14 games. Coming for his second stint with the RCB, du Plessis will be hoping to help his side get their hands on the elusive IPL trophy this time around.
The three-time runner-up will open their campaign against five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) on April 2 at Chinnaswamy Stadium.
