Mohammed Siraj slips to third spot in ICC ODI rankings | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: star Indian leader mohamed siraj slipped to third place after Australia Josh Hazlewood moved him from the first place in the last ICC ODI Ranking for bowlers on Wednesday.
Siraj slipped behind Hazlewood and New Zealand’s Trent Boult after India’s 10-wicket loss to Australia in Visakhapatnam.
Hazlewood, whose career-best second position was first achieved in June 2017 and held since August 2022, is No. 1 ODI for the first time.
Australian Paceman Mitchell StarcThe eight wickets from the two matches against India also see him move into third with Siraj.
Siraj, who came back with impressive numbers of 3/29 to help India win the first ODI against Australia, cost dearly in the second ODI by giving up 37 runs in three overs and consequently lost his position as highest ranked bowler.
Other bowlers to move up the ODI rankings include Alzarri Joseph of the West Indies (up eight places to 11th place), India’s Mohammad Shami (up five places to 28th) and Dutchman Fred Klaasen (up 22 places to 52nd).

In the ODI batting rankings, Indians Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli remained fifth and seventh respectively, while captain Rohit Sharma moved up one place to ninth.
KL RahulThe unbeaten 75, which helped India recover from a poor start and win the first ODI by five wickets, helped them move up three places to 39th.
New Zealander Kane Williamson moved up to second place among batters in Test cricket after his dominating show with the bat against Sri Lanka.
With his sixth double ton in the tests, Williamson is now just one behind Kohli (seven) as the players with the most scores over 200.
Australian Marnus Labuschagne remains the highest ranked batter in Test cricket.
New Zealand left-handed batsman Henry Nichollswho took 200 steps in the Wellington test and was involved in a massive 363-run pit stop with Williamson, jumped 20 places to 27th.
Sri Lankan captain Dimuth Karunaratne is in 10th place.
