‘Take a break and keep yourself fit for the WTC final’: Sunil Gavaskar to out-of-form Rohit Sharma | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma’s dismal run in the 2023 Indian Premier League continued on Saturday as he set an unwanted record for batsman with the most ducks in league history.
Hit it big Sunil Gavaskar believes India’s out of form skipper Rohit should take a break from the IPL and seriously prepare for the next one World Trials Championship (WTC) final against Australia.
Gavaskar believes Rohit’s confidence has been hit after a long run of poor scoring in the T20 league.
Speaking on Star Sports, Gavaskar said: “I would say maybe Rohit should take a break for now and keep fit for the World Test Championship final. He can come back for the last few games but right now, (he should) be taking a little break himself.”

The WTC final is set to be held at the London Oval from June 7-11.
Rohit’s barren run with the willow continued as Chennai Super Kings broke a 13-year home jinx against Mumbai Indians with an easy six-wicket win at Chepauk on Saturday.
The Indian skipper’s horrendous run in the IPL since last edition continued as he failed to bother the goalscorer for the second game in a row, leading MI to settle for a lower scoreline par 139 for eight against CSK.

It was an unforgettable outing for the Mumbai Indians and the biggest setback for them was the current form of their skipper, who was dismissed on the power play for the eighth time in this edition of the league.
