NEW DELHI: Gujarat Titans (GT) leg thrower Rashid Khan has been the center of attention every time he’s in the middle and on Sunday it was no different when he caught everyone’s attention by taking a great catch in the outfield to get rid of of the dangerous opener Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) Kyle Mayer during an Indian Premier League (IPL) match at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
The incident happened in the ninth round when Mayer went for a hook on pacemaker Mohit Sharma’s slower short ball, but he got the upper hand and headed for the deep square leg. But a warning Rashid was quick to cross his right and dove to perfection to pull off a stunning catch.
Mayers, who hit a quick 32-ball 48 with the help of 7 fours and 2 sixes, was very good at the time. But Rashid’s spectacular effort through depth shattered the crucial 88-point opening stand between Quinton de Kock and Mayers.
