NEW DELHI: opening of India KL Rahul underwent successful surgery on his right thigh, the right-handed hitter confirmed Tuesday.
Rahul, the captain of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), who was left out of the rest of the IPL and the WTC Final injured in his thigh, took to social media to provide an update on his operation.

“Hi everyone, I just finished my operation – it was successful,” reads his Instagram post.

Many thanks to the doctors and medical staff for making sure I was comfortable and everything went well. I’m officially on the road to recovery now. I’m determined to get back to my best and get back on the pitch. Onwards and upwards!, he added.
Rahul, 31, picked up the injury during an IPL game against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow. He stopped abruptly while chasing the ball and eventually had to be helped off the pitch by team support staff.
After consultations with specialists, it was decided that Rahul would undergo surgery and that it would be followed by rehab at the National Cricket Academy.
The All India Senior Selection Committee has nominated Ichan Kishan as Rahul’s replacement in the final WTC squad.
