“A petition to the Supreme Court has been filed by lawyer Ali Zafar and PTI chief Fawad Chaudhry challenging the IHC verdict against Imran Khan,” the report said.
On Wednesday, after Khan’s arrest, PTI Vice President Shah Mehmood Qureshi convened an emergency meeting of the seven-member committee to review the situation and devise a comprehensive strategy to secure the president’s safe and speedy release. party.

“The PTI will challenge the IHC’s decision to declare the arrest of party leader Imran Khan by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) ‘lawful’ in the Supreme Court today (Wednesday),” it said. in the report.
Qureshi, a former foreign minister, argued that the request for Khan’s release is a reasonable and legitimate request.
Khan appeared in Accountability Court on Wednesday and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) requested a 14-day physical pretrial detention against Khan.
Moreover, calling the Al-Qadir Trust affair a “dirty political affair” and a “revenge plot”, the PTI vice-president affirmed, “We will fight it politically and legally”.
He further added that the PTI will organize peaceful but vigorous protests across the country to secure the release of its president as soon as possible, the Geo report said.
He also noted that the IHC had been raided to arrest Khan despite the fact that the PTI chairman had offered voluntary arrest in his statement before appearing in court.

Khan’s arrest warrant, issued on May 1, said he was charged with bribery and corrupt practices.
The anti-corruption watchdog also justified the arrest of the PTI chief with the help of Rangers from inside the courthouse on Tuesday and called it lawful and purely in accordance with NAB laws.
