Fastest 50 In IPL: Yashasvi Jaiswal smashes fastest fifty in IPL history | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: Rajasthan Royals’ young batting sensation Yashasvi Jaiswal brought out all the guns blazing and mocked the bowling of the Kolkata Knight Riders as he created the record for the fastest fifty in IPL history.
Jaiswal went hammer and pliers from the word go to notch his fifty from just 13 balls, breaking the joint record held by pat cummins And KL Rahul who slammed fifty 14 balls.

Jaiswal went on to beat an unbeaten 98 as Rajasthan made short work of their target to knock down 150 in just 13.1 overs. The 47-ball left-handed hitter was peppered with 12 fours and five sixes.

It was the second fastest fifty overall in all forms of cricket after Yuvraj Singh’s famous 12-ball fifty against England in the inaugural ICC T20 World Cup in 2007 which also included six sixes against Stuart Broad .
Chris Gayle, Hazratullah Zazai, Kaushalya Weeraratne and Wayne White also have 50-12s under their belts.

Jaiswal took KKR skipper Nitish Rana to the cleaners in the opening leg of the innings as he hit him for two successive sixes and fours on the first four balls to kick off the RR chase on a blistering note.
He then continued the assault on Harshit Rana and then hit Shardul Thakur for a hat-trick four to get the fastest fifty.
The third fastest fiftieth in the IPL belongs to Yusuf Pathan, Nicholas Pooran, Sunil Narine and Kieron Pollard who recorded 15-ball half-centuries.
