KOLKATA: Chief Minister of West Bengal and Trinamool Congress supreme Mamata Banerjee on Monday he said his party will support Congress where it is strong in 2024 Lok Sabha elections. “Wherever Congress is strong, let them fight. We will give them support, there is nothing wrong (with that). But they have to support other political parties as well,” Banerjee told reporters at the secretariat of state.
However, to gain support, Congress must support other parties as well, he said.
The TMC chief also clarified that he expected the seat-sharing formula to prioritize regional players in areas where they were strong.
“Priority must be given to strong regional parties,” he said.
Banerjee had previously hailed the people of Karnataka after the BJP lost power there, failing to mention the grand old party that TMC has had clashes with in the past.
