Gautam Gambhir and Rohit Sharma greeted each other ahead of LSG MI IPL 2023 match | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: Former Indian teammates Gautam Gambhir and Rohit Sharma met and hugged ahead of the all-important clash between Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians on Tuesday.
Rohit Sharma approached Gautam Gambhir and shook hands during training session at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana cricket stadium in Lucknow on Monday.
Gambhir, who had a heated exchange with Virat Kohli earlier this season, was seen joking and smiling with Rohit Sharma in a video posted by LSG’s Twitter account.

The Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants have seen their fortunes tumble over the past few games. While MI have won four of their last five matches, LSG’s form has been uneven. When they lock the horns on Tuesday night, anything less than a victory will shake their playoff hopes.
But to increase their chances, besides outsmarting their opponents, they should come up with a perfect plan that will work effectively on a pitch at Ekana Stadium which is one of the slowest in this edition of the IPL.

The average first leg score at the Lucknow venue is just over 143, which is the lowest among the stadiums used this season. Even LSG struggled to get off to a good start on their home ground, which only saw them win two out of six matches. They lost three while one fell in the rain.
The last game on the site was played on May 3, but expect nothing to change when the first pitch is played.

MI will be in a better position thanks to the confidence they had to gain by recording those convincing wins and climbing up the points table.
Without skipper KL Rahul, LSG ran out of ideas in difficult situations. But they can use the win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in their previous game to get their season back on track.
