HS Prannoy soars to career-best World No. 7 ranking, Treesa-Gayatri secure 15th position | Badminton News

NEW DELHI: HS Prannoythe accomplished Indian commuter, jumped an impressive two positions to achieve a career-high world ranking of seventh in the men’s singles category of the last BWF Ranking published on Tuesday.
Another notable breakthrough was achieved by Commonwealth Games bronze medal winning pair Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichandwho moved up two places to secure 15th place in the world in the women’s doubles category.
Prannoy’s outstanding performances throughout 17 tournaments racked up a total of 66,147 points, making him India’s highest ranked singles player. Closely follow is PV Sindhuthe two-time Olympic medalist, who moved up a spot to secure 11th place in the women’s singles.

In the men’s singles category, Lakshya Sen And Kidambi Srikanth swapped positions, with Sen now holding 22nd place and Srikanth occupying 23rd place.
However, in men’s doubles, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty suffered a slight setback, slipping two places to seventh position.
Unfortunately, no other Indian player currently holds a place in the top 20 of the rankings in all categories.
