NEW DELHI: India concluded their Sudhirman Cup campaign with a 4-1 win over Australia in their final Group C game in Suzhou, China.
Despite being knocked out of the knockout stage, India managed to earn a win after suffering defeats to Chinese Taipei and Malaysia earlier in the tournament.
Placed in the “group of death”, India lost 1-4 against Chinese Taipei and 0-5 against Malaysia – two heavyweights of the match – to crash out of the mixed team championship.

the Indian mixed doubles pair, Sai Pratheek And Tanisha Crastolost a tight game against Kenneth Zhe Hooi Choo And Gronya Somerville with a score of 21-17, 14-21, 18-21.
However, HS Prannoy leveled the score for India beating Jack Yu convincingly in straight sets, 21-8, 21-8.
In ladies’ singles, Anupama Upadhyaya replaced by PV Sindhu and emerged victorious with a score of 21-16, 21-18 against Tiffany Ho.

The men’s doubles duo composed of MR Arjun and Dhruv Kapila then picked up a comfortable 21-11, 21-12 win over Ricky Tang And Ryane Wanggiving India an unassailable 3-1 lead in the overall standings.
Finally, the women’s doubles pair of Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponnappa sealed India’s consolation victory beating Kaitlyn Ea and Angela You with a score of 21-19, 21-13.
