Aamir Dalvi: Seeing the premiere of my film in Cannes will become a historic event in my life

Amir Dalvi is poised to achieve what he calls the unthinkable as he prepares to grace the red carpet at 2023 Cannes Film Festival. Accompanied by the cast of Anurag Kashyap‘s Kennedy, in which he plays the antagonist, the actor is flying to France for this international film event. Sharing his excitement, he said, “The film is premiering at Cannes and nothing can get bigger than that. It will become a historic event in my life and career. It’s not just about participating in the film festival, but also about presenting our film in front of thousands of people from world cinema, who will see my work. When I heard the news, I remember laughing hysterically, because I couldn’t believe what I had heard. It seems surreal to this day.
Talking about working with Anurag Kashyap, he said, “His films speak volumes about his vision and storytelling. He is known for making niche films, which always stand out and expose you to a different cinema ”.
Known for his work in television, Aamir found the experience of making the film unique. He shared, “When Anurag chooses an actor, it means that the actor is almost 70 percent of the character in his film. The rest of the magic happens on set. He usually just explains the flow of the scene and refrains from explaining how to stage it. He gives the actor creative freedom.
The actor has been a part of several TV shows including Jab Love Hua, Saathii Re, Badi Devrani, Parvarrish Season 2, Devanshi, Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya, Chhal – Sheh Aur Maat and Aladdin — Naam Toh Suna Hoga. She made her Bollywood debut in 2013 with Dilli Gang.
