Ron DeSantis entered the race to be the next president of the United States, facing off against Donald Trump.

On Wednesday, she submitted a candidacy statement to the US Federal Election Commission.

The 44-year-old becomes the latest in a crowded Republican contest to decide whether the party will switch from Trump to 2024 as he aims to take back the White House from Democrat Joe Biden.

Those already in the GOP camp include the former UN ambassador Nikki HaleySouth Carolina Senator TimScott, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and former governor of Arkansas Asa Hutchinson.
