Leeds relegated from Premier League after 4-1 home defeat by Spurs | Football News

NEW DELHI: In a disappointing season finale, Leeds United suffered a 4-1 home defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at Elland Road in Leeds, leading to their relegation from the premier league. The match saw Harry Kane shine with two goals for the visitors.
After three seasons in the elite, Leeds will now make their return to the championship. The defeat was a bitter conclusion to their Premier League campaign.
Pedro Porro and Lucas Moura also found the net for Tottenham, who finished eighth, narrowly missing out on a place in the UEFA Conference League. Jack Harrison managed to score a consolation goal for Leeds but it wasn’t enough to save their Premier League status.
The defeat marks the end of Leeds United’s run in the 2022-23 Premier League season, and they will now regroup and prepare for the challenges ahead in the Championship.

Kane silenced the home fans in the second minute when Spurs worked the ball down the right and into the box with Son Heung-Min finding the unmarked England striker just outside the penalty area and he n made no mistake.
The second half had barely begun before Kane smartly kicked the ball past a defender to attack Porro who was hiding unmarked in the corner of the box to strike home from a tight angle.

Harrison pulled one back to breathe life into the crowd in the 67th minute, but Kane restored Tottenham’s two-goal cushion two minutes later.
Moura, playing his last game for Spurs, added the fourth in injury time after carrying the ball nearly half the length of the pitch around several defenders.
Leeds’ defeat ends a roller coaster season under four different managers with just two wins on the road.
Allardyce was brought to the club in early May to right the ship, but picked up just one point from four games.
