In his quest for world number one, Aryna Sabalenkacurrently ranked second, overcame a determined challenge from fellow Belarusian Iryna Chymanovitch to secure a place in the third round of the French Open. Facing 214th-ranked qualifier Shymanovich, Sabalenka got off to a rocky start as her opponent matched her power with every groundstroke. Shymanovich used her skills to move Sabalenka up the field, using well-placed angles and daring drop shots to disrupt her rhythm and force her towards the net.
Despite the pressure, Sabalenka remained focused and capitalized on her opportunities. After wasting two set points at 6-5, she clinched the set on her third chance by chasing down another bunt from her opponent.

In the second set, Sabalenka took a two game lead but had to fight for every point as Shymanovich fought back. Nonetheless, Sabalenka showed tenacity and determination, eventually sealing victory on her second match point.
