Opposition parties’ June 12 meeting in Patna postponed | News from India

NEW DELHI: A meeting of opposition parties, which was due to be held in Patna on June 12, has been postponed, sources said on Sunday.
With Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and some other key opposition figures unavailable for the meeting, deliberations are expected to be held at a later date so they too can attend, giving the event due prominence.
Sources said Congress Chairman Mallikarjun Kharge and DMK leader and Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu MK Stalin also faced difficulties attending the June 12 meeting due to prior commitments.
Gandhi is currently in the United States.
JD(U) leader and Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar has taken the lead speaking to several regional satraps as well as Congress, Aam Aadmi Party and the left to build unity among opposition ranks to face BJP in polls Lok Sabha of 2024.
He has held separate meetings with leaders of many parties, including Congress Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, Delhi Chief Minister and AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC Chief Mamata Banerjee and Sharad Pawar of the ‘PCN.
