Women Reservation Bill cleared in Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha: PM Narendra Modi to address BJP supporters | India News

NEW DELHI: Celebrations have been planned at BJP headquarters after the women’s reservation bill was cleared by both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha on Thursday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to arrive at the venue shortly, where he will be felicitated by BJP’s Mahila Morcha members. He is also likely to address BJP supporters on the occasion.

The 27-year-long wait for parliamentary clearance for women’s quota in legislatures ended on Thursday as the Rajya Sabha unanimously endorsed the Constitution (128th Amendment) Bill 2023 that seeks to reserve one-third of seats in Lok Sabha and state legislatures.

The women’s quota bill – Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam – will automatically apply to assemblies of all states and UTs of Delhi and Puducherry.
