THANE: A 25-year-old man from Thane was left disappointed after receiving a package containing three soap bars instead of the smartphone he had ordered, police reported on Monday.
The victim, who works at a photocopy shop, had purchased an iPhone worth Rs 46,000 from an online shopping platform. However, upon opening the package on November 9, he discovered the soap bars instead of the expected mobile phone.
The man immediately filed a complaint with the police, suspecting that the parcel had been tampered with during transit.An official from Bhayander police station stated that an offense has been registered against the unidentified culprit under section 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code.
