PATNA: A police sub-Inspector was mowed down by a tractor carrying illegally mined sand at Garhi Police Station in Jamui district Tuesday morning.
A homeguard was also injured in the incident. The sub-inspector was posted as additional SHO, Garhi Police Station.
The deceased, Prabhat Ranjan (28), was a 2018 batch sub-Inspector. The injured has been identified as Rajesh Kumar Sao.He is admitted to Jamui Sadar Hospital.
According to Jamui SP, Shaurya Suman, “The Garhi Police was on a regular patrolling duty around 7 in the morning when the incident took place. The tractor has been seized and the driver has been identified. A special investigation (SIT) team has been formed to nab the culprit. Raids are being conducted at possible hideouts of the accused.”
