The World Cup kind of starts again now: Mitchell Marsh | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: Australian captain Mitchell Marsh said after his team’s five-wicket victory over Scotland in their ICC T20 World Cup match that playing in the Super Eights will be their first opportunity to play all of the world’s best teams because a challenging environment brings out the best in everyone on the team.
In their ICC T20 World Cup encounter on Sunday in Saint Lucia, Australia overcame Scotland by five wickets thanks to half-centuries from Travis Head and Marcus Stoinis.Australia finished the group stage undefeated.
Speaking after the game in the post-match presentation, Marsh said, “We spoke about sticking to our game. We spoke as a group to stay really consistent in how we wanted to play. Having already qualified, there was little less pressure on us. Whenever our team is challenged, it brings the best out of us. Today we were challenged and it was a good experience and a good game of cricket. The World Cup kind of starts again now.”
According to ANI, Marsh praised Scotland’s development over time and noted that they had achieved their highest result in an ICC competition, saying, “Scotland are a good team, they have improved a lot and we certainly wanted to respect them.”
