IndiGo Delhi-Bagdogra flight delayed by 4 hours due to ‘high ground temperatures’ | India News

NEW DELHI: An IndiGo flight from Delhi to Bagdogra was delayed for nearly 4 hours on Monday at the Indira Gandhi International Airport due to a technical snag caused by high ground temperatures.
Delhi has been experiencing a heatwave for the past few days with temperatures regularly hovering at a scorching 45°C.
The flight was scheduled to take off at 2.10pm.Online flight tracking platform FlightRadar24 showed the flight finally taking off around 6.15pm. The Bagdogra airport is located near Siliguri in West Bengal.
The flight was supposed to land in Bagdogra at 4.10pm.
A spokesperson of IndiGo said: “IndiGO flight 6E 2521 between Delhi and Bagdogra was delayed due to high ground temperatures impeding operations. IndiGo prioritises passenger safety above all else and is taking steps to enable a prompt departure. Passengers are being provided with regular updates and we regret the inconvenience caused due to factors beyond the airline’s control.”
