NEW DELHI: India’s historic triumph in the T20 World Cup has ignited a wave of inspiration and motivation among the country’s Gen-Next stars, including Abhishek Sharma, who was watching the game with his mentor and former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh. Abhishek stated that the former all-rounder had got emotional after watching India’s T20 World Cup win.
Witnessing the emotions of a multiple World Cup winner like Yuvraj during India’s thrilling win over South Africa left a profound impact on Abhishek.
“I was watching the match (T20 WC final) with the one and only Yuvi paji (Yuvraj Singh). He got very emotional when India won the final. Watching that, I felt very good and got very inspired. It’s a dream for all of us to win an ICC trophy, and he has won it for India many times. I will never forget that moment, and then we went outside and celebrated. I think this World Cup was very special and now I am really motivated to win a Cup for the country,” Sharma told BCCI, as quoted by PTI.

Wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel employed an unconventional approach, reverse-jinxing the outcome to ensure India’s victory.
“I was thinking that if I say India will win, then SA might win. So, I was saying SA will win, and eventually India won. I was celebrating like a kid after that,” Jurel noted.
The pacers, Mukesh Kumar and Tushar Deshpande, described the win as a “miracle”, while Avesh Khan celebrated the momentous occasion with local fans, vowing to maintain the high standards set by the World Cup-winning team.
