India vs Bangladesh: Kuldeep Yadav added to squad for third ODI; uncertainty over Rohit Sharma’s availability for Test series | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) added the left arm spinner on Friday Kuldeep Yadav to the team for the third and final day against Bangladesh.
Skipper Rohit Sharma, who suffered a thumb injury in the second ODI, has returned to Mumbai for specialist consultation. The 35-year-old will miss the ODI final on Saturday and a call on his availability for the two-Test series against Bangladesh will be taken later.
Struggling with a string of injuries, Kuldeep’s inclusion for the final ODI will come as a relief to the team management.
With pacemakers Deepak Chahar and Kuldeep Sen out of the ODI series, the duo will now report to the NCA for further injury management.
“Fast bowler Kuldeep Sen complained of stiffness in his back after the first ODI. The BCCI medical team assessed him and he was advised to rest from the 2nd ODI. Kuldeep received diagnosed with a stress injury and is ruled out of the series,” BCCI said in a statement.
“Fellow fast bowler Deepak Chahar suffered a left hamstring strain in the 2nd ODI and is also ruled out of the series.
Bangladesh have already taken an unassailable 2-0 lead over India in the three-game ODI series, making the final a draw.
The series of two tests between the two teams begins on December 14 in Chattogram.
Indian squad for 3rd ODI against Bangladesh: KL Rahul (C) (WK), Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, Shreyas Iyer, Rahul Tripathi, Ishan Kishan (WK), Shahbaz Ahmed, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Mohd. Siraj, Umran Malik, Kuldeep Yadav
