Unconscious Greek MP Kleon Grigoriadis strips naked during video meeting | world news

A Greek politician was caught unknowingly stripping naked in front of a parliamentary committee while his fellow MP was holding a video conference.

Kleon Grigoriadis removed his jacket and then his shirt behind his party colleague, seemingly oblivious to being released to a wider audience.

Maria Apatzidi was addressing the public administration committee about a proposal for police legislation coming from the offices of the leftist MeRA25 party in the Greek parliament when Mr Grigoriadis suddenly appeared on the screen.

Ignoring the camera, he began to undress.

Mrs. Apatzidi tried to warn him, but he was too focused on the task at hand and failed to notice.

When she realized he was topless, she acted directly and put her hand on the camera, much to the astonishment of the surveillance committee members.

However, Mr Grigoriadis, who is an actor by profession, failed to see the fun side of his shirtless presentation and later said: “When you work all day, you change your clothes in the office.

“Because, yes, some MPs work instead of stealing public money.”

He blamed the media for rushing to show the “unfortunate incident”, but did not give the same attention to more serious issues.

Her comments were echoed by Ms Apatzidi when asked to comment.

She wrote on social media: “When the MeRA25 meddles with the oligarchy and receives lawsuits, its deputies are not invited anywhere.

“Now a simple event that can happen to anyone is the reason to be invited.

“We’re sorry but we won’t play the media game.”

When she later complained in an interview that MeRA25 MPs were not invited on the air to talk about serious issues like the energy crisis or the environment, the presenter told her that she was not “not there to promote party positions”.

In response, Ms Apatzidi said “have a nice day” and hung up the phone.
