He fulfilled the promise he made to the three girls during the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Ujjain on 29th November.
“The experience of the helicopter ride with Rahul Gandhi was unimaginable and unforgettable and one to cherish in memories for a lifetime,” the three girls told local media after stepping off the helicopter.
The three girls, identified as Sheetal Patidar, a student of class XI, Antima Panwar (class X) and Girija Panwar met Rahul Gandhi through a cultural program during the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Ujjain on 29 November. Rahul spoke to the three girls about their career prospects and dreams. In the course of the interaction, all three expressed a wish to take a helicopter ride with him and Gandhi promised to grant their wish very soon. During the trip, Rahul along with the helicopter pilot, shared basic technical information with the girls and took pictures with the. He also gave them chocolates when they got off the helicopter after the trip.
During the run, Rahul also shared his experience of interacting with students and youth during Bharat Jodo Yatra in various places across the states and said that most of the youths expressed their desire to attain high positions.
Rahul also requested the three girls to do with full passion and dedication whatever they wished to do and to make a career for themselves. He told them not to choose a career under pressure from family members or society.
Receiving a warm welcome on his 92nd day in the city, Rahul Gandhi led the Bharat Jodo Yatra which started from Suryamukhi Hanuman Temple, Jagpura at 6am on Thursday morning, marched a 24km stretch through the city to the village of Bhadana. After the helicopter ride with the girls, Rahul left for Sawai Madhopur in the same helicopter.
