BENGALURU: Based on the directions of a special court for elected representatives, Bengaluru city police on Saturday registered a criminal case against Rajya Sabha MP from Karnataka and Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The case also includes officials of the Enforcement Directorate, former state BJP President Naleen Kumar Kateel, state BJP President BY Vijayendra, and others on alleged charges of extortion of thousands of crores of rupees in the name of electoral bonds.
Earlier in April this year, city-based RTI activist Adarsh R. Iyer had approached the court, accusing the above persons of the offence and prayed the court to register a case and investigate through the police.
