Hemant Government Loots State By Carts: Union Home Minister Amit Shah | News from India

DUMKA: Mahagathbandhan government led by JMM of Jharkhand is the most corrupt in the country and plunders with truckloads of tractors and wagons the mineral rich state, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Saturday at an event to consolidate BJP votes in the heartland of the tribe for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
“I have no qualms about saying that this UPA government led by Hemant Soren is the most corrupt in the country. They are not looting the state only by hand but with tractors and railway cars (referring to illegal mining),” he told Deoghar, attending the BJP’s Vijay Sankalp Yatra, the party’s general election campaign.
During his second visit to Jharkhand in a month for the yatra, he accused Soren’s government of turning a blind eye to Bengalis settling illegally in the state and putting its domiciled population at risk of losing their homes and livelihoods.
“Bangladesh’s ongoing infiltration into the state has drastically damaged its demographics. The tribal population has decreased from 39% to 24% and this government has turned a blind eye to it for its vote bank policy. Soren’s government is facilitating the infiltration and allowing the grabbing of tribal land and the exploitation of girls and women here,” Shah said.
The union minister urged the crowd in the temple city to vote for the BJP as it will stop the looting and save the tribes.
He also took aim at Congress, a partner in the government, by saying “funds going to the tribals are being remitted to the Delhi durbar,” referring to the party’s high command.
Shah predicted that BJP will win all 14 Lok Sabha seats in Jharkhand because people are tired of corruption and bad governance. He highlighted the development work of Modi government in Santhal Pargana division and appealed to people to vote for BJP.
He said the previous BJP government in Jharkhand continued to build AIIMS, airports and national highways among others, but the JMM-led coalition “did nothing for the state”.
“What has the current government done for Jharkhand? Our government is giving every farmer of Jharkhand Rs 6,000 every year. What did you give him, Hemantji? Narendra Modiji has provided free gas bottles to every house in the state, but what has the Soren government done so far?
Shah offered prayers at Babadham Baidhyanathdham temple and laid the foundation of an Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative (IFFCO) liquid urea plant in Jasidih industrial estate. He praised IFFCO for the facility, the fifth of its kind in the country, saying it will generate jobs for locals.
The Home Minister also addressed the Jamtara cybercriminal hub, saying that the Modi government is providing all the help to the state to control online crimes, but “the Soren government is doing nothing to control them”.
She said crime against women has increased under the current dispensation. “In Sahibganj, the innocent Jharkhand’s daughter Rebika Pahadin was brutally murdered. Similarly, Dumka’s young daughter Ankita was also brutally killed. Have these heinous crimes nothing to do with Prime Minister Hemant Soren? Does he have no responsibility? Innocent girls in our tribal society are brutally killed, but Soren remained a mother. She should be ashamed,” she said.
The threat of Maoist insurgency has diminished over the years thanks to the Center’s efforts, he said. “Modiji got rid of Naxalism and extremism in the state. Operation Octopus, Operation Double Bull and Operation Chakrabandha are a few in which large numbers of Naxalites and extremists surrendered. Many others have been eliminated. Jharkhand is now peaceful thanks to the Modi government’s policies.”
