The auction will see a total of 409 cricketers go under the hammer at Jio World Convention Center in Mumbai on February 13. The roster was narrowed to 409 players after a total of 1,525 players registered for the auction, the BCCI said in a statement.
“The inaugural Women’s Premier League will be played in Mumbai from 4 to 26 March 2023. A total of 22 matches will be played with Brabourne Stadium and DY Patil Stadium hosting the main tournament,” the BCCI said.
Out of 409 players, 246 are Indian and 163 are foreign players out of which 8 players are from member nations. Total capped players are 202, uncapped players are 199 and 8 from member nations.
Up to 90 slots are available with the five teams, 30 of which are for foreign players.
13 overseas players have also slotted in under the Rs 50 lakh reserve price with the likes of Ellyse Perry, Sophie Ecclestone, Sophie Devine and Deandra Dottin to name a few.
30 players are in the auction list with a base price of Rs 40 lakh.
