UP’s momentum bodes well for India’s growth, says Amit Shah | News from India

LUCKNOW: Commending CM Yogi Adityanath’s UP for its transformation from one of the ‘Bimaru’ states to ‘Country’s Growth Engine’, PM Ways he said on Friday at the inaugural session of the three-day global investors’ summit, “If India is achieving bright spot status for the entire world, then UP is providing much-needed energy and driving its growth.”
Union Home Minister Amit Shah invoked a law of physics to highlight how the BJP-ruled UP had achieved “momentum” in all respects because it had “both mass and velocity”.
“The momentum UP has gained bodes well for the country’s growth,” he said.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, who is also an MP from Lucknow, accused the once governments led by now opposition parties of creating roadblocks to trade and industry with their “pseudo-secularism”.
“Even existing industries have been pushed into crisis situations. Then there came a time when, even having all the resources, people hesitated to go into trade and commerce,” she said.
Singh said the Modi government replaced red tape with a red carpet for investors, following the path shown by the late Atal Bihari Vajpayee when he was at the helm. He hailed Modi not only as prime minister but also as a “great inspiration”.
CM Adityanath said his government had already signed 18,643 MoUs worth Rs 32.92 lakh crore to the ongoing GIS. “Everything UP has achieved in the last six years has been based on Prime Minister Modi’s mantra of ‘reform, execute and transform’,” he said. “The historically neglected areas of Purvanchal and Bundelkhand have attracted investments of Rs 9 lakh crore and Rs 4.2 lakh crore respectively.”
