Justice: Law Minister Kiren Rijiju Announces Chief Justice Appointments for Four High Courts | News from India

NEW DELHI: Union Law and Justice Minister Kiren Rijiju on Sunday announced the appointments of chief justices for the country’s four high courts.
“According to the relevant provisions under the Constitution of India, the following justices are appointed Chief Justices of different High Courts. I extend best wishes to all of them!” Kiren Rijiju said in the tweet.

On Monday, the Union Ministry of Law and Justice notified the elevation of several bailiffs and lawyers to additional judges in the High Courts of Allahabad, Karnataka and Madras.
Kiren Rijiju, Minister of Law and Justice on Monday wished them good luck and tweeted “According to the relevant provisions under the Constitution of India, the following lawyers and judicial officials are appointed as Additional Judges of Allahabad High Court, High Court of Karnataka and Madras High Court. To all of them I extend my best wishes”.
The government notified the elevation of 13 judicial offices and lawyers for the three high courts.
The notification issued regarding the Allahabad High Court stated that “In the exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 224 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint (1) Syed Qamar Hasan Rizvi, (2) Manish Kumar Nigam, (3) Anish Kumar Gupta, (4) Nand Prabha Shukla, (5) Kshitij Shailendra and (6) Vinod Diwakarto be Additional Judges of the Allahabad High Court, in that order of seniority for a period of two years, effective from the date they take up their respective offices.
Lawyers Lekshmana Chandra Victoria Gowri, Pillaipakkam Bahukutumbi Balaji, Kandhasami Kulandaivelu Ramakrishnan and bailiffs Ramachandra Kalaimathi and K Govindarajan Thilakavadi were appointed as additional judges in the Madras High Court by the central government on Monday, the notification read. Vijaykumar AdagoudaPatil, E Rajesh Rai Kallangala additional judges of the Karnataka High Court were also appointed according to the notification issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice.
Meanwhile, India’s Chief Justice DY Chandrachud on Monday swore in the five new justices as Supreme Court justices.
On Saturday, President Droupadi Murmu signed the mandates to appoint five new judges to the Supreme Court.
The new justices were inducted today (Monday) after a swearing-in ceremony at the Supreme Court.
Chief Justice of Rajasthan (HC) Pankaj Mithal, Chief Justice of Patna HC Sanjay KarolManipur HC Chief Justice PV Sanjay Kumar, Patna HC Justice, Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah & Allahabad HC Justice, Justice Manoj Misra they were sworn in as justices of the supreme court.
The College of the Supreme Court last December 13 had recommended these names for the elevation.
