Chandrayaan-3 lander completes key tests | News from India

BENGALAURU: Isro on Sunday said the Chandrayaan-3 lander underwent a successful EMI/EMC (Electro – Magnetic Interference/Electro-Magnetic Compatibility) test between January 31 and February 2.
The test reads: “It is conducted for satellite missions to ensure the functionality of satellite subsystems in the space environment and their compatibility with the expected electromagnetic levels. This test is a milestone in the realization of satellites”.

Reiterating that the Chandrayaan-3 mission has three main modules: the propulsion module, the lander module and the rover, Isro said the complexity of the mission requires establishing radio frequency (RF) communication links between the modules.
“During the EMI/EC test of the Chandrayaan-3 lander, launcher compatibility, antenna polarization of all RF systems, autonomous automatic compatibility tests for the orbital and powered descent mission phases, and of compatibility of the lander and rover for the post-landing phase of the mission. The performance of the systems was satisfactory,” Isro said.
