Jasprit Bumrah Still Needs Permission From NCA, BCCI To Monitor Workload Ahead Of IPL: Report | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: The suspense is over Jasprit Bumra‘s return to competitive cricket continues to stay with the as yet unlicensed Indian speedster National Cricket Academy (ANC), according to one report.
Bumrah, who has been out of action at international level since September 2022 with back problems and missed the T20 World Cup, tour of Bangladesh and home series against Sri Lanka and New Zealand, is not part of either the Test or the team YOU HATE .
Fans had expected to see Bumrah in action in their last two series against Australia in Indore and Ahmedabad. However, the selectors did not pick him for either the Test team or the ODI squad against Australia.
It is now clear that he has not been considered for the games against Australia as he has yet to obtain clearance from the NCA.
According to a report by Cricbuzz, Bumrah had attended a few training matches at the NCA facility over the past 10 days but is still awaiting clearance.
The BCCI is constantly monitoring Bumrah’s progress and will also keep an eye on her workload as per the usual schedule.
The board appear cautious on this front as they are considering his participation in the World Test Championship final to be played in London in July and the ODI World Cup to be held later in the year in India.
But the BCCI will also have to balance the interests of India’s five-time winners in Mumbai, who would like their most powerful bowler to return to full strength. The Mumbai Indians had a harrowing season last year and are hoping to have Bumrah back in their fold.
But with the BCCI treading cautiously to manage the workload for Bumrah, the Mumbai Indians will now have to maintain their aspirations for IPL 2023.
