MG Comet EV variants, pricing, to be announced tomorrow: What to expect

MG Motor Italy is all set to launch all variants of the Comet EV in Indian market tomorrow i.e. 05 May 2023. Recently, the company announced the starting price of MG Comet EV which is Rs 7.98 lakh (ex-showroom). After the MG ZS EV, the Comet EV is the second electric vehicle in the manufacturer’s Indian range. Reservations for MG Comet EV will start from 15 May 2023 onwards. Here’s what to expect from India’s cheapest electric vehicle.
Featuring LED headlights, taillights and LED daytime running lights, the MG Comet EV features a two-tone exterior and an LED strip that runs across the width of the car at the front and rear. Dimensionally, the Comet EV measures 2,974mm in length, 1,505mm in width and 1,631mm in height. The wheelbase of the MG Comet EV is 2,010 mm. The EV runs on 12-inch alloy wheels.

Moving on to the interior, the MG Comet EV sports a two-spoke steering wheel with pod-like controls, a dual 10.25-inch floating screen for a touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster, 12V charging port and Android wireless. Car and Apple CarPlay. In addition, the Comet EV also features an integrated iSmart system with over 55 connected car functions and a digital Bluetooth key that can be shared by up to two people. It has three driving modes: Eco, Normal and Sport.

The five-seat car, the MG Comet EV is powered by a 17.3 kWh lithium-ion battery that offers a claimed range of 230km on a single charge. The PMS electric motor mounted on the rear axle delivers a maximum power of 41.1 hp and a maximum torque of 110 Nm. The electric vehicle battery can be charged from 0 to 100 percent in seven hours and from 10 to 80 percent in five hours.

For safety, the MG Comet EV is equipped with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear camera and parking sensor, tire pressure monitoring system, front and rear three-point seat belts and ISOFIX child seat.
