Ghislaine Maxwell has officially appealed her conviction and conviction in the United States for sex trafficking.
The 60-year-old was found guilty of luring girls to massage parlors to harass disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein between 1994 and 2004.
She was sentenced to 20 years in prison in federal court in the southern borough of New York last month.
Despite an apology to his victims during the sentencing hearing, court documents show Maxwell he has now paid $ 505 (£ 420) to appeal his conviction and sentence.
During the three-week trial she was described as “dangerous” and jurors were told details of how she helped entice vulnerable teenagers to Epstein’s various properties for him to sexually abuse.
Maxwell’s attorneys had indicated that they would appeal the conviction after it emerged that one of the jurors in his trial had not disclosed that he had been sexually abused.
Her attorney previously claimed that juror Scotty David’s actions “demonstrated a lack of trustworthiness and an appetite for publicity” when the socialite filed for a retrial.
Judge Alison Nathan rejected this.
And in remarks prior to his sentencing hearing, Maxwell’s attorneys said he would face no more than four or five years in prison.
But the judge said that “repeatedly, and over the course of many years, he has participated in a horrific scheme to smuggle girls, some as young as 14.”

Judge Nathan added: “The defendant’s conduct … was atrocious and predatory.
“Ms. Maxwell worked with Epstein to select young victims who were vulnerable and who played a vital role in facilitating sexual abuse.”
Maxwell has been in jail since July 2020, despite numerous attempts to have her released on bail.
Epstein was found dead in his cell in a federal prison in Manhattan in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
The death was judged a suicide.
