Shooting in a Russian school: at least 6 dead, dozens more injured after a gunman opened fire

At least six people died and another 20 injured after a gunman opened fire on a school in central Russia on Monday morning.

It happened in a school in Izhevsk, the capital of the Udmurtia region. According to the governor of the Udmurtia region, Alexander Brechalov, the killer allegedly killed a guard and several children.

“There are victims among the children, there are also injuries,” Brechalov said.

The gunman reportedly shot himself.

Brechalov said the school was evacuated and the surrounding area closed.
