NEW DELHI: Elections in AIFF Executive Committee will take place on September 2 and aspiring candidates will be able to submit new nominations from August 25, announced the returning officer.
The Supreme Court Monday ended the Administrator Committee (CoA), as demanded by world governing body FIFA, and pushed back the AIFF week-long elections.

Hours after the SC order, returning officer Umesh Sinha issued a new notice, again outlining the process.
Applications for the positions can be submitted between Thursday and Saturday while the ballot will take place on Sunday (August 28).
Candidates, whose nominations are deemed valid, will have the opportunity to withdraw their nominations, if they wish, on August 29 while the returning officer prepares the final list of running candidates and posts it on the election website. ‘AIFF on August 30.
The vote will take place on September 2 at Headquarters of the AIFF in New Delhi and the results could be announced either on September 2 or September 3, depending on the opinion of the returning officer.
World football’s governing body, FIFA, suspended the Indian Football Federation (AIFF) on August 15 for “undue interference by a third party”, jeopardizing the U17 Women’s World Cup, which the country is to host in october.
Revoking the AIFF ban and holding the U-17 Women’s World Cup in the country depended on the exit of the CoA and the highest court on Monday ordered routine business to be handled by the general secretary acting Sunando Dhar.
Under the revised order, there will be no “prominent footballers” as individual voters, which violates the FIFA Statuettes.
The implication of this order means that former captain Bhaichung Bhutia will have to come from a state unit in order to contest the election unlike the previous time when he ran as a prominent footballer.
